Junior Ranger Sessions Now Available Over the Easter Holidays

Junior Rangers is back for the Easter Holidays, with two upcoming sessions for children ages 8-12! Junior Rangers is designed to help children learn and discover the wonders of nature through outdoor activities in Newark and Sherwood’s local parks and woodlands.

Newark jam-packed with events this spring and summer

This year is set to be a busy one in Newark with a whole host of events set to take place in the market town over the next few months. From Artisan Markets to the CAMRA Beer Festival and ‘Race to the Castle’ (a paddle board event) to the popular Steampunk Festival, there’s lots for families and friends to get involved with.

A number of rural businesses in Newark and Sherwood are seeing their companies flourish and make the next step in expanding their commercial offer thanks to grants made available by the District Council through Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), integrated into the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

Residents can now have their say on Public Space Protection Orders

A number of Newark and Sherwood’s Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) will come to an end in 2024 and as such, a review of the PSPOs and the related information is being undertaken, and the Council is reaching out to residents, businesses, partner agencies and wider groups to hear their thoughts.

District Council donates laptops to local community groups

To help make sure no resident is left disadvantaged due to their lack of access to digital infrastructure, Newark and Sherwood District Council has donated 80 laptops to 19 community groups across the district as part of their digital inclusion scheme.

Improvements in Balderton begin thanks to Safer Streets funding

The first installations to improve safety and security in Balderton have been installed through Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Safer Streets 5 partnership with Balderton Parish Council, Nottinghamshire Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC).
