Report a missed bin collection

Report now

You can also report a missed bin collection in MyNs.

You will first be asked to log in or register for a new account.

Wait until after 3pm on the day of collection before reporting an uncollected bin as we may be coming back to collect it.

Why your bin may have not been collected

Your bin may have not been collected because it is was:

  • not your collection day – check your bin collection day
  • not out by 6am or not at the front of your property and on the pavement (unless you have received instructions to put it elsewhere)
  • contaminated
  • overloaded

Contaminated general waste bins

If it is a general waste bin, it may not have been collected because it contains concrete, construction materials or large amounts of soil making it too heavy.

Go to what goes in your general waste.

Contaminated recycling bins

If it is a silver recycling bin, it may not have been collected because It contains non-recyclable items.

To have you bin collected:

  • report it as contaminated
  • leave the bin out
  • it will be collected as general waste within five working days

Go to what goes in your general recycling.

Contaminated garden waste bins

If it is a brown garden waste bin, it may not have been collected because it contains non-garden waste.

Remove anything that is not garden waste. Then we will empty your bin on your next scheduled collection.

Go to what goes in your garden waste.

Contaminated glass recycling bins

If it is a silver glass recycling bin with a teal lid, or a Recycling Ollerton and Boughton (ROB) glass recycling box, it may not have been collected because it contains non-recyclable glass. We only accept glass bottles and jars.

Go to what goes in your glass recycling.

Bad weather

We try to maintain waste and recycling collections whatever the weather.

When conditions are dangerous for our crews pulling waste bins and loading vehicles, we may need to suspend collections until things improve.

We will catch up as soon as possible.

Overloaded bins

If your bin is too heavy, we will not empty it.

Overloaded bins can cause a risk to the crew and potential damage to the collection vehicle.

Reduce the weight of your bin. Then we will empty it on your next scheduled collection day.
