Intake Wood FAQs (safety and risk management)

There were no banksmen on the ground during felling, what risk assessments were made prior to the work taking place?

Pathways were taped off and signs placed up around the site. This should have ensured that the felling areas were free from any other people. Unfortunately, many of the signs were defaced and some of the barrier tape was ripped down.

There’s not enough safety being considered with the felling, a few people have fallen over branches, what is being done about public safety?

Any forestry works come with an element of risk and mess. We are putting plans in place to restore the footpaths.

Why weren’t there enough site visits by the Council, how many took place?

Council officers were on site on a weekly basis alongside weekly checks being conducted by our park rangers.
