Retailers across Newark and Sherwood have been receiving help from the District Council in a bid to maintain a healthy and diverse high street. Following challenges presented by the pandemic and an increasingly digital economy, Newark and Sherwood District Council is working with local business owners to build and develop their businesses.

Work towards creating a cleaner, safer, greener district continues as the Great British Spring Clean returns to Newark and Sherwood for another year.

On 24 February 2022 Russian forces invaded Ukraine. One year on, Newark and Sherwood District Council will be marking this anniversary by flying the Ukrainian flag on Friday 24 February outside the District Council’s offices at Castle House in Newark.

THIS week, Newark and Sherwood District Council approved the introduction of a new kerbside glass recycling service across the district. This decision follows a public survey, launched five weeks ago, which saw almost 93% of respondents wanting to see the new service.  This represents more than 10 per cent of households in the district which is considered very high for any survey issued by any organisation.
