If the police or environmental health team believe that allowing the event will undermine the licensing objectives, they must, no later than 48 hours after being given a copy of the TEN, give the premises user and us an objection notice.
The police, with the agreement of the premises user, can modify the TEN in which case the counter notice issued by us will be withdrawn. Otherwise the Council must hold a hearing to consider the notice at least 24 hours before the event.
Appeals
If you disagree with our decision, you can appeal to your local magistrates' court.
You must do this within 21 days, and at least five working days before the date of your event.
