Premises licences

If you are intending to sell alcohol, food late at night or tickets to an entertainment event you may need a licence.

Object to a premises licence application

There is a period of 28 days from the day we receive an application during which valid objections can be made.

To raise an objection, download and fill out the following form and send it customer services using the details at the bottom of this page.

Make an objection to a proposed premises licence (PDF, 147kb).

What happens next

Where a 'notice of hearing' is given to an licence applicant, we are required under the Licensing Act 2003 (Hearings) Regulations 2005 to provide the applicant with copies of the relevant representations that have been made.

Publishing personal details

If you feel at risk of intimidation or violence if your personal details are divulged to the applicant, get in touch with us using the details at the bottom of this page.

If we believe your concern to be genuine and well-founded, and that you may be deterred from making a representation on this basis, we may consider alternative approaches.

The Licensing Authority will also publish the name and address of people making representations within the public documents (notice of hearing and the licensing report).

Final decisions

If there are no representations the licence will be granted on the 29th day. If there are any representations, the application will be sent to our licensing committee for a decision within 20 working days after the initial representation period.
