The Regulations of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) policy applies to the whole council and applies to all covert (secret) surveillance undertaken by us.
This includes surveillance relating to core functions, such as public protection and safety, planning enforcement and housing management.
We are committed to being open and transparent, but wherever possible, overt (non-secret) investigation techniques should be used.
