Anyone who lives, works or studies in Newark and Sherwood can submit a petition to us.
Petition topics
The topic of the petition must be about a:
- council service or facility
- suggested improvement to the local economy, community or environment which we and partner organisations are responsible for
What you must include in your petition
Your petition must include:
- a clear and concise statement covering the subject of the petition
- a statement about what action the petitioners wish us to take
- the name, address and signature of any person supporting the petition.
We will ask you for further clarification if the petition is unclear.
Petitions we will not accept
We will not accept a petitions that are:
- defamatory
- frivolous
- offensive
- factually inaccurate
Any petition that is rejected will be published on this website, along with the reason why it was rejected.
