The Local Development Framework and what it's used for

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a statutory document that must be prepared by local planning authorities. 

Legislation requires that this document must set out our policies to help the involvement of those persons and organisations who have an interest in the preparation of a local plan, other planning policy documents, neighbourhood plans and the consideration of planning applications. 

Following changes to allow public speaking at Planning Committee, the SCI has been amended to reflect this. 

The SCI is a revision of the previous SCI which was adopted in March 2015. The current SCI was adopted on 4 June 2024.
