Beauty treatment licences

Licensable treatments include:

• massages
• electric treatments
• radiant heat, light or electric vapour treatments
• sauna or other baths for therapeutic treatments
• other similar treatments including laser or intense-pulse-light (IPL) treatment and UV light treatments
• UV tanning equipment including sunbeds and sunshowers
• skin piercing and tattoos

Treatments like tooth whitening can only be administered by a qualified dental nurse or dental practitioner.

To apply for a licence, download, complete and return the appropriate application form to the contact details at the bottom of this page.

Fees

We charge an application fee that must be paid using our online payments portal. Once you have paid you will need to write the receipt number on your application form.

What happens next

Allow 6 weeks from us receiving your application for it to be processed. 

Changes to your licence

You can use the same forms above if you need to renew or transfer a licence.

If you have a new therapist start at your beauty establishment before your licence is due to be renewed, complete the new therapist form (PDF, 17kb) and return to us.
