There are various local organisations that run litter picking events.
In Bloom Gold award winners in 2017, 2018 and 2019, Historic Newark in Bloom volunteers help with litter and keeping the town looking lovely.

Volunteers from Newark Community Gardeners are avid litter pickers and regularly look after town centre areas including Friary Gardens, St Mary's Church Gardens and the Appletongate area.

Farnsfield Community Spaces helps to look after Farnsfield village, keeping it clean and tidy. They plant up and look after the village flower troughs, plant spring bulbs, litter pick and help prepare for the annual best kept village competition and other village events.

If you’re a parent or manager of a local Duke of Edinburgh team and would like to consider litter picking for your group please contact us.
Our waste management team will act as the assessor for your group and can supply high vis jackets, black bags and pick up the collected rubbish.
The Friends of Sconce and Devon Park is a group of volunteers who help with the management and maintenance of the park. The Friends meet every other month and new members are always welcome. The group gets together for regular litter picks and help to keep the park safe and tidy by litter picking during daily walks.

Formed during the Great British Spring Clean 2021, this Facebook Group shares information about planned litter picks in the local villages.

The Friends of Vicar Water volunteer group is involved in helping us to look after the park. The group meets regularly and welcomes new members.

The Friends of Sherwood Heath organise regular litter picks to help protect this special site. Katie from the Sherwood Forest Trust also runs regular Friday volunteering sessions that include litter picking and tidying on the heath.
