The District Council has been informed that the Development Consultation Forum at Field Reference 4028 Middlebeck Way for 520 dwellings, including vehicular access and infrastructure has been postponed. The developer Heaton Planning Ltd (on behalf of Saint-Gobain UK) was due to attend on Tuesday 2 June but is now looking to rearrange the forum at a later date when they have more information to provide residents.
Councillor Andy Freeman, Chair of Planning Committee at Newark and Sherwood District Council, has also provided the following statement:
“A Development Consultation Forum (DCF) is an opportunity for the developers to present emerging proposals to councillors and residents at an early, pre-decision stage. This early engagement is important as it offers developers the chance to rethink certain aspects of their proposals, address concerns, or commission survey work before submitting a planning application.
“I’m hopeful that a rearranged date can be planned soon as we always try to support dialogue between developers and local residents, so views and concerns are addressed early. A DCF isn’t a requirement for planning applications of this size but it’s something we encourage developers to undertake. Once a new date has been agreed for the DCF, we will inform local residents”
Sain-Gobain UK has provided a full statement which can be found on their website: Newark development plans.
