We put the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) in place during times of severe weather, for example cold temperatures, flooding or extreme heat.
The SWEP supports people who are sleeping rough and provides them with a temporary safe space.
We are committed to ensuring that anyone who is identified as sleeping rough will be provided with suitable accommodation in these circumstances.
Currently, the SWEP is not active.
When the SWEP is active, we share an announcement and contact rough sleepers who we are already aware about.
During this time, if you are aware of someone sleeping rough, you can make a referral online on the Street Link website.
You can look at the latest weather forecast on the Met Office website.
