Resident Panel

Volunteer to share your views on our area and your experiences of our services.

If you live in Newark and Sherwood and want to share your views on our services, plans and proposals, why not join our Resident Panel?

The panel is part of our consultation and engagement strategy.

If you’re over the age of 16 and would like to help us make sure our services are the best they can be, we’d love to hear from you.

As a member of the Resident Panel, you have the opportunity to be entered into a twice-yearly prize draw, with a chance to win tickets or vouchers to support a local business or organisation.

Taking part in the Panel

As a Resident Panel member, you’ll be asked to complete approximately 3 surveys a year, focusing on key local issues such as:

  • community safety
  • environmental issues
  • local policing
  • health
  • waste and recycling

We provide a number of ways to register your views, including online, paper-based surveys and in-person focus groups.

You may also be invited to attend consultation exercises, such as group discussions or workshops, or take part in live online debates.

In addition panel members may be asked to help by:

  • sharing their experiences of council services
  • sharing their experiences as residents of Newark and Sherwood
  • giving their views on new proposals
  • helping identify future needs and priorities
  • engaging in follow-up consultation activities arising from a large-scale survey
  • participating in mystery shopping exercises

How we use your feedback

The views of the Resident Panel will be shared with key decision makers in the council and our partner organisations (where appropriate).

They’ll use the information to:

  • help us make decisions on a wide range of issues, plans and proposals
  • help improve our services
  • help identify priorities to improve the quality of life of our residents
