The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts (PCSC) Act 2022 provided new duties in respect to serious violence.
The Serious Violence Duty requires councils and local services to work together to share information and target interventions. This is to prevent and reduce serious violence, including:
- identifying the kinds of serious violence that occur in the area
- identifying the causes of that violence
- to prepare and implement a strategy for preventing and reducing serious violence in the area
The Serious Violence Duty Local Response Plan
The Serious Violence Duty Local Response Plan explains how the funding will be implemented, through the Bassetlaw and Newark and Sherwood Community Safety Partnership.
