Sign up for regular collections for your business, to collect your trade and commercial waste and recycling.
If you own a business, you’re legally responsible for safely containing and disposing of any waste you produce. This applies even if you run your business from home.
Business rates do not include the cost of trade waste disposal.
For businesses that have more than 9 employees, you have a legal obligation to have recycling collection services in place. Failing to correctly dispose of your trade waste is an offence, resulting in fines of up to £50,000 and even imprisonment.

How we can help
We can help you meet your business and trade waste disposal and recycling needs. You can sign up for the following collection services:
- non-recyclable waste
- dry, mixed recycling
- food waste
- glass recycling
We offer:
- a variety of bin sizes, ranging from 140 litres to 1,100 litres
- pre-paid labels for bags – perfect if you have no storage space for bins
- discount for additional bins
- no charges for bin rental or documentation
- no VAT charges for bin rental or documentation for most customers
Recycling services for businesses with more than 9 employees
For trade recycling for businesses with more than 9 employees, we collect:
- most paper and card – but not paper and card that contains glitter or foil, laminated paper, stickers and sticky paper, padded lined envelopes, paperback and hardback books, wallpaper, shredded paper and anything contaminated with food
- plastics – including any bottles up to 5 litres in size, pots, tubs, trays, tubes and cartons
- metals – including food and drink cans, aerosol cans, foil, foil trays and metal tubes
- glass – including all glass bottles and jars of any colour (metal lids can stay on)
- food waste – including all food intended for human or household pet consumption, food waste from the processing or preparation of food, including inedible food parts such as bones, eggshells, fruit and vegetable skins, tea bags and coffee grounds
Recycling services for businesses with fewer than 9 employees
Although there is no current obligation to separate your waste until 1 April 2027, if you are a business with fewer than 9 employees, recycling services are available upon request. Contact us:
