Join the housing register

To apply for a home you will need to first join our housing register through the MyHome service.

How to apply

Make sure you have the following information before you apply:

  • national insurance number
  • ID such as a passport, driving licence, birth certificate, for all members of your household
  • proof and information on any benefits
  • relevant medical information
  • share codes (for immigration status if applicable)

The application form will ask you for details about:

  • yourself
  • everyone who will live in the property
  • where you live now
  • where you would like to live
  • whether you have any medical conditions or disabilities which might affect the type of property you require
  • proof of your immigration status

To fill out the online housing register application form, you will need to create a MyHome account first. Once created, go to 'Applications' under the 'My hub' header on the MyHome dashboard, then click 'Create application'.

What happens next

Once we have received your application, it will be assessed along with any supporting evidence you provide, and you will be notified of the banding priority you have been awarded. This will take several days.

You will receive an application reference number which you will need in order to view and register your interest in suitable properties you are eligible for, this will all be explained to you during the registration process.
