This is the redesigned Newark and Sherwood website
We have moved three sections to this site – Council Tax, benefits and financial support and bins, waste and recycling. Over the next few months we will redesign and move the rest of the website.
You can pay Council Tax by Direct Debit, online, or by telephone.
To pay Council Tax, you must first be registered with us. If you've recently moved to the Newark and Sherwood area you must tell us so we can set up your Council Tax account.
If you’ve moved within the Newark and Sherwood area, or are leaving the area, you can amend your details by completing our moving out form.
If you pay by Direct Debit we will take your payments directly from your bank or building society account so you will not have to remember to pay.
We'll take the payment on day 1, 8, 15, 21 or 28 every month, whichever you prefer. You will be given at least 14 days notice before your first payment is due.
You can also choose to spread your payments over 10 or 12 months.
You can make a bill payment at any time using our secure payments portal. You’ll need your Council Tax reference number.
You can pay your Council Tax by telephone with a credit or debit card on our automated payment line, open 24 hours a day. You can access this using our main customer service line: 01636 650 000.
