This is the redesigned Newark and Sherwood website
We have moved three sections to this site – Council Tax, benefits and financial support and bins, waste and recycling. Over the next few months we will redesign and move the rest of the website.
If you are having trouble paying your Council Tax, there are lots of ways we can help you.
If you're having difficulty paying your Council Tax you should contact us as soon as possible so we can help you. Options to consider include applying for a discount, changing your payment plan, or getting financial advice.
We may be able to offer an alternative payment date, or extend your payments, to help manage your finances more effectively. You can also request that your payments be made weekly or fortnightly if preferred.
You could spread the cost of your Council Tax by setting up a Direct Debit. Direct Debit payments can be set up even if you've had a final notice for non-payment and lost the right to pay by instalments.
You might qualify for a discount or exemption on your bill. There are many different types, depending on your circumstances and the type of property you live in.
