Medical waste collections

You can sign up for our medical waste collection service. You can book a collection for:

• infectious healthcare waste
• sharps boxes

You can also apply in MyNS. This allows you to track the request. 

You will first be asked to login or register for a new account.

What we need to know

We need to know: 

• your name and address
• the contact details of your GP or district nurse

After you apply

Once we receive your application, we will send a form to your stated medical professional via Nottinghamshire County Council to confirm that the waste is infectious. 

We will supply bags and stickers and advise on the date of the collection once we have this confirmation.

When collections take place

Weekly collections take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They are ongoing until you notify us.

Occasional collections will mostly be for sharps boxes.  

Dispose of non-infectious waste

Healthcare waste which is not infectious should be wrapped in a plastic bag and placed in your green household waste bin.
